Sign up

Create your church's account in a few minutes.

Note. The person who signs a church up becomes its Administrator. They can add others later, each with their own role. See Add a user.

ECM is designed for small churches, and it's free for any church to use. Signing up creates your church and your own account together, and you become your church's administrator.

What you need

  • Your church's name and address: street, city, state and a five-digit zip code.
  • Your own name, and an email address you can open right now. We send a link to confirm it.
  • A password you don't use anywhere else.

Steps

  1. Go to the ECM home page and choose Sign up free.
  2. Under Your church, enter the church's name, street address, city, state and zip code. For the state, type the two-letter code, such as AZ. These details head your reports and giving letters, and you can change them later in Settings. See Church details.
  3. Under Your account, enter your name, your email address and a password.
  4. Read the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy, tick the box, and choose Create account.
  5. Open your email and choose the link we sent you. That confirms your address and takes you to your dashboard.
  6. A moment later you'll get a welcome email with the first steps and links to this help. Keep it handy.

The sign-up form has two parts: your church, then your account.

Tip. Sign up as the person who will look after your church's records. You're the church's administrator, and this is the address we write to about your account.

Choosing a password

A password must be at least 12 characters, with upper and lower case letters, a number and a symbol, and it can't be a password that has appeared in a known data breach. A few unrelated words with a number and a symbol between them is easy to remember and hard to guess.

You can also add two-step sign-in, or a passkey, later in Settings. See Password and security.

If the email doesn't arrive

  • Look in your spam or junk folder.
  • On the "Check your email" page, choose Resend verification email.
  • If you typed the address wrongly, sign up again with the right one. An unfinished sign-up is cleared away after 14 days.

Careful. Use an email address you'll keep. It's how you sign in, and how we reach you if something needs your attention.
